On her first night in Australia, Wambui was invited to an African wedding party. The lady in yellow made the hat for her. 💥Note:
Wambui's original Actors' Equity Association name was John-Ann Washington, which was also her birth name. She performed under this name for most of her theater career and for all performances and presentations before 1996. After that, she began using the name Wambui Bahati.


Lost Material
Over the years and countless performances, I’ve lost many photos along the way. I often forget to capture pictures of my shows and events until they’re already over. While I love taking selfies with audience members, I rarely end up with photos for myself. Most of my show memories live in my head and heart.
